流变中的场所——泉州铺境的城市治理与日常仪式

Localities in Flux: Local Administration and Everyday Rituals in the Historic Neighborhoods of Quanzhou

以泉州古城铺境为例,通过城市治理和地方信仰的角度认识传统邻里场所。从铺境的城市管理制度设置出发,提出明清时期帝国的法定里社与地方上的铺境庙之间存在着"当为"与"实为"的关系,行政和信仰系统按各自的体系与规则运行,共同对城市人口管理、城市财税管理发挥作用,继而分析管理体系如何作用于铺境的用地划分,以及铺境庙中的"礼"如何作用于管理权威的维系。揭示自上而下的"城市治理"和自下而上的"地方信仰"在铺境场所形成中的作用,并探讨其对当下传统城市邻里遗产保护的启示。

Taking Quanzhou’s Pujing system as an example, this paper explicates late imperial urban neighborhoods through revealing the interrelationship between local administration and territorial cults. On reviewing the records of Pujing system found in ancient books and relics, it suggests that during the Ming and Qing dynasties the empire’s official altars were incorporated into the Pujing temples for local cults. Local governance of these late imperial neighborhoods was a combination of administrative control and folk beliefs, both of which played a role in the management of urban population and finance. An analysis of the organization of Pujing system, including its laws and legal culture, reveals the system’s impact on the spatial formation of the historic city, which should be taken into consideration in the preservation of the neighborhoods today.
