最佳关联理论视角下的网络语言英译

Analysis on the Translation of Netspeak from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

中国网络语言经历了从“舶来品”到“本土化”、从“小众”到“大众”的发展历程,正全面走进现实语言生活。在国际交流、文化互动十分频繁的现实社会生活中,出于国际交流的需要,网络语言的翻译会成为一种社会需要。关联理论认为:翻译是示意—推理的过程,最佳关联是翻译的标准。译者要充分推理原作者的交际意图,构建最佳关联,并示意(明示或暗示)给译文读者,帮助他们花费最小的努力获得最好的语境效果。翻译网络语言时,译者采用直接翻译和间接翻译的方法,力求做到使原作者的意图与译文读者的理解、企盼相吻合。

Switching from“an exotic language”to“a localized language”,from“being rarely used”to“being popular”,the netspeak has emerged as a new model of communication in China and is an indispensable part of people’s daily communication.Prompted by the increasing cross-cultural interactions,the translation of netspeak is greatly demanded.According to the relevance theory,translation is a process of indicating—evaluating,aiming at achieving the optimal relevance.The translator is required to assess the author’s intention thoroughly,construct an optimal relevance between original and target language and indicate it to the target readers directly or indirectly,helping them understand the text with minimum efforts.When the netspeak is translated,the strategies of direct translation and indirect translation are always applied,to ensure that through the interpretation target readers’expectation could resemble the author’s intention.
