Objective To investigate the relationship between blood glucose, insulin levels and the risk of Parkinson’s disease in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods Selected 342 cases of type 2 diabetes diagnosed in the hospital from March 2019 to March 2021, of which 80 patients with Parkinson’s disease were used as the observation group, and 262 patients without Parkinson’s disease were used as the control group. Compared the blood glucose and insulin levels of the two groups of patients, and the correlation between blood glucose and insulin levels and Parkinson’s disease was analyzed. Results Compared the fasting blood glucose and insulin levels between the two groups, the fasting blood glucose of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, but the insulin level was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). The incidence of Parkinson’s disease increases with increasing blood sugar levels and decreases with decreasing insulin levels. Used linear correlation analysis, the correlation analysis between the blood glucose level of patients with type2 diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, there was a high degree of positive correlation between the two(r =0.786).Correlation analysis between insulin level and Parkinson’s disease in patients with type 2 diabetes, there was a significant negative correlation between the two(r =-0.678). Conclusion Type 2 diabetes can lead to abnormal fasting blood glucose and insulin levels and increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease. Therefore, the abnormal glucose metabolism and insulin secretion of type 2 diabetes can be regulated to reduce the central nervous system damage of patients, reduce neurodegenerative diseases and reduce the occurrence of Parkinson disease.
