红二方面军的长征贯穿全国红军长征从酝酿、出发到胜利的全过程;他们在中共中央和中革军委探索长征路线,即选择在哪里创建新的根据地作为落脚点的三个发展阶段中,分别起到先行探路和掩护主力、开创新区和战略策应、推动北上和维护统一等无可替代的作用,是夺取全国红军长征最终胜利的重要生力军;他们的胜利与重要作用的发挥,既得益于他们始终坚持党的领导和具有高度政治觉悟及强烈的大局意识,也是基于其全体将士的团结奋战和领导核心的坚强有力,更是受益于遵义会议后党中央的正确指挥;遵义会议正确军事路线和组织路线的贯彻,瓦窑堡会议改变政治路线和实行抗日民族统一战线总策略精神的及时运用,不仅极大地焕发了红二方面军的战斗力,而且为其指明了夺取长征胜利的唯一正确方向。

The Long March of the Second Front Red Army went throughout that of the whole process of ferment,departure and arrival of the Chinese Workers’and Peasants’Red Army.When the Central Committee ofthe Communist Party of China and the Revolutionary Military Commission of the Communist Party of Chi-na were exploring the route of the Long March,at the three developmental stages of choosing where to es-tablish the new base as their foothold,the Second Front Red Army played an irreplaceable role in explor-ing the first way and covering the main forces,creating the new base and strategic alignment,promoting toproceed northward and defending the unification.And they were the important productive force in theeventual victory of the Long March.Their victory and significant role benefited from the Party’s leadershipthroughout,high political consciousness,and the deep sense of overall situation,as well as the correct com-mands of the CPC Central Committee after Zunyi Meeting,which was also based on the joint efforts of allthe officers and soldiers and the strong leading core.Zunyi Meeting put the correct organizational and mili-tary routine into effect.Wayaobu Meeting altered the political line and carried out the strategy of Counter-Japanese National United Front in time,which aroused combat effectiveness greatly and pointed out theunique right direction of the victory of the Long March.
