One hundred years ago,Liang Qichao expounded the concept of the Chinese nation as well as a three point argumentation about it,which includes:1.“the Chinese nation is of both great complexity and unity”;2.“such complexity and unity is the result of heavy prices the nation has paid in the past”;3.“this nation will never decline but will have a great prospect for further development in the future”These three points,which stem from his long-time research on the subject,show his keen insight and profound understanding of the Chinese nation,and are of great value and significance even today.They have not become out-dated even with the elapse of one century.Liang Qichao’s projections about the future of the Chinese nation have come true.The three points he makes about the Chinese nation are still of academic and practical value to us today in enhancing our confidence in the future of the Chinese nation and promoting our understanding of the characteristics of the Chinese nation.
