This study aimed to investigate the intestinal flora composition and the prevalence of drug resistance in captive tahr.Six fresh fecal samples each were collected from adult and sub adult groups of the tahr population in Jinan zoo,and their flora composition was analyzed by high-throughput sequencing. The results showed that Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes were the two dominant phyla in tahr feces, making up(60.35±1.71)%and(59.96±2.48)%,respectively,and the average contents of Bacteroidetes were(29.95±2.80)%and(29.60±2.51)%,respectively,with no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).At the genus level, the content of Sporobacter in adult group was significantly higher than that in subadult group(P<0.05).Additionally,one strain of Escherichia coli was isolated from 20 fecal samples of different individuals, and its sensitivity to 14 kinds of antibiotics in 7 categories was assessed by broth microdilution method. The results showed that 10%of the isolates were drug resistant, including sulfonamides and tetracyclines at 5%,but sensitive toβ-lactams,aminoglycosides,quinolones,polymyxin and amido alcohols. This study provides valuable reference for the diagnosis and treatment of E.coli infection in captive tahr.
