Among the various disadvantages brought about by rapid urbanization, the problem of linear material metabolism has long been ignored by people, and the reconstruction of a healthy and harmonious urban material circulation system is an important starting point to alleviate this problem."The Looper"designed by RTKL in the United States creatively integrates energy, water, and nutrient recycling processes into a modified movable barge, and uses the fluidity of the hull itself to absorb and utilize metabolic waste generated by surrounding communities, which produces food and energy for the communities passing by,and also enables surrounding residents to understand and participate in the cycle process and promotes community communication.Taking this design as an example we analyze its mechanism of improving urban metabolism and optimizing urban ecosystems,so as to provide inspiration for the sustainable development of cities in our country.
