Understanding the Media:A Theatrical Perspective

以媒介为主导,观照"文化、技术和传播"的学术研究在西方学界和中国学界已然蔚为大观,且目前正进一步从传播学领域辐射到更广阔的其他学科领域。依托于麦克卢汉的研究,当代剧场作品《理解媒介》为我们提供了一种独特的剧场视角,观众与演员共同在历时性的演出中动态生成了一次理解媒介的尝试。本文主要分析了以剧场的方式"理解媒介"与麦克卢汉原著的关联所在,描述与分析剧场作品的实际呈现,最后阐明上演本剧的意义。

Led by the media,academic research on"culture,technology and communication"has become popular in Western and Chinese academic circles,and is radiating from the field of communication to other broader disciplines.Relying on Marshall McLuhan’s research,the contemporary theater work"Understanding the Media"provides us with a unique theater perspective for understanding the media.The audience and the actors dynamically generate an attempt to understand the media in the diachronic performance.This article analyzes the relationship between"understanding the media"in the theater and McLuhan’s original work,describes and analyzes the actual presentation of the theater work,and finally clarifies the significance of the play.
