By understanding the general situation of Daxu ancient town in Guilin, starting from the architectural space form and historical and cultural background of Daxu ancient town, this paper analyzes the problems existing in the inheritance and development of Daxu ancient town, and further puts forward the corresponding inheritance and development strategies for these current problems. It not only provides useful guidance for the research on the inheritance and development of the same type of historical and cultural ancient towns, but also reviews and studies the intangible cultural heritage such as historical context and cultural customs precipitated for thousands of years,which is helpful to preserve and continue the precious architectural heritage and traditional style, and explore the protection and development path of the architectural space and traditional culture of Daxu ancient town.
