The Global Health Assembly(WHA),organized by the World Health Organization(WHO),will hold a special session from 29 November to 1 December 2021 to discuss the benefits and necessity of who being responsible for drafting international treaties and related instruments on the prevention and control of pandemic infec tious diseases.As governments prepare for the conference,the Centre for Global Health,under the International Development Institute in Geneva,has organised a series of seminars with academics,politicians and diplomats,and published policy briefs.This paper,apolicy brief for the World Health Assembly 2021,explores the global pandemic Infectious Disease Control treaty being drafted by WHO.The original text is published in English by the Centre for Global Health,part of the Global Health Alliance and the International Development Institute in Geneva.The Chinese translation may be subject to minor changes,and the Original English version is the authoritative version.
