山水诗英译与中国传统“生态智慧”的当代世界意义--评陈琳《欣顿与山水诗的生态话语性》

English Translations of River-and-Mountain Poetry and the Contemporary Cosmopolitan Signifi cance of Chinese Traditional“Ecological Wisdom”:A Review of Ecological Discourse in Hinton’s Translation of Rivers-and-Mountains Poetry by Chen Lin

陈琳的专著《欣顿与山水诗的生态话语性》围绕中国古代山水诗的翻译诗学特征和生态话语意义,对当代汉学家欣顿的翻译思想、翻译策略和生态智慧进行了全面的梳理和分析。本文首先介绍了著作中有关欣顿山水诗翻译的基本内容,包括翻译概况、世界文学特性、文化形态、生态形态和美学形态的表现形式、陌生化和差异化翻译思想和翻译策略以及生态话语建构特征,之后探讨了山水诗跨文化生态意识中的道家文明思想,并分析了禅宗思想同山水诗的生态审美观之间的关系以及山水诗中蕴含的生态智慧对建构世界文学的意义。本文认为该论著观点新颖、论证合理,对认识山水诗的文学价值具有重要启示。

Centering on the characteristics of translation poetics and their ecological discourse based on the classical Chinese rivers-and-mountains poetry,Discourse in Hinton’s Translation of Rivers-and-Mountains Poetry(2019),a monograph by Chen Lin,provides a comprehensive,critical analysis of the translation thoughts,translation strategies,and ecological wisdom of David Hinton,a contemporary sinologist.This paper introduces the four main parts related to Hinton’s translations of rivers-and-mountains poetry in the book as follows:(1)the overview of his translations;(2)the features of world literature,the ecological category,and the aesthetic category;(3)the defamiliarization-diff erence-oriented translation views and translation strategies;and(4)the ecological discourse construction.It also explores the Taoist civilization of cross-cultural ecological consciousness,analyzes the relationship between the Chan ideas and the eco-aesthetic views of the riversand-mountains poetry,and the signifi cance of the rivers-and-mountains poetry in the construction of world literature.With its novel views and appropriate arguments,this book embodies the realization of the literary value in rivers-and-mountains poetry.
