Study on Space Design of the Exhibition“Golden Afghanistan——Crossroad of Ancient Civilizations”

“金色阿富汗——古代文明的十字路口”是南京博物院举办的以阿富汗古代文明为主题的大型特展,是阿富汗珍宝在法国、美国、中国等11个国家巡回举办的第26个展览。如何在表达巡回展览核心内容的基础上,在形式设计上做出新意、体现特色是展览的重要考量。文章通过对展览内容、展陈空间、展陈道具、展陈色彩的解析,探讨创新形式设计在博物馆展览内容再创作上的积极作用。以展览空间设计采用的“六边体蜂巢状”为重点,分析空间、平面、色彩等设计在解构内容、组合空间、形成动线、营造氛围中把握展览节奏的重要性。通过案例分析发现,对展览内容的细致分析、深刻理解是创新形式设计的前提,而创新设计需要形象思维和抽象思维并用,博物馆展览设计是视觉艺术,尊重展览内容的基础上对观众给予美的熏陶、艺术的感染是形式设计的基本遵循。

“Golden Afghanistan--Crossroad of Ancient Civilizations” is a large-scale special exhibition with the theme of ancient Afghan civilization held by Nanjing Museum and the 26th exhibition of Afghan treasures which has been held in 11countries, including France, the United States and China. On top of expressing the core content of the traveling exhibition,how to make new ideas in the form of design and reflect the characteristics of the exhibition are important considerations.Through the analysis of exhibition contents, exhibition space, exhibition props and exhibition colors, this paper discusses the positive role of innovative and appropriate formal design in the re-creation of museum exhibition contents. This paper focuses on the "hexagon honeycomb" adopted in the design of exhibition space, and analyzes the importance of space, plane and color design in deconstructing content, combining space, forming dynamic lines and creating atmosphere to grasp the rhythm of the exhibition. Through case analysis, it is found that meticulous analysis and deep understanding on the contents of the exhibition are the premise of innovation in the form design. Furthermore, innovative design needs image thinking and abstract thinking. As the museum exhibition design is a visual art form, form design must adhere to the basic principle of letting audience be nurtured by aesthetic and art perceptions based on respecting the exhibition content.
