Three Commentaries on the Rockery Art in Jingxinzhai(Jingqingzhai)

以掇石何法来剖析静心斋现状的掇山意趣;以欺山何为来重构静心斋光绪时期对园山的增改;以造园何感来探讨静心斋乾隆时期对初衷的营造。对比南、北方园林在掇山营造方式及情感目的上的异同,试图寻找传统园林在当下延续的方式。

This paper explicates the interest and charm of the present-day Jingxinzhai by examining the principles of rockery art.It reconstructs the historical alterations to the rockeries at Jingxinzhai during the Guangxu period by discussing the methods of“qishan”(literally“bullying rockery”).In addition,it explores the creation of the original intention during the Qianlong period by analyzing the purposes of garden making.By comparing the similarities and dif ferences of rockeries in terms of construction methods and sentimental intentions between the Southern and Northern gardens in China,this paper explores the approach to the conservation of traditional gardens today.
