民国时期报刊对祈雨的态度与认知——以《苏州明报》为例

Attitude and cognition of newspapers and periodicals towards the rain praying during the Period of the Republic of China--Taking Suzhou Ming Newspaper as an example

民国时期,苏州旱灾频发,官方和民间经常举行祈雨活动。《苏州明报》对祈雨这一传统文化模式表明了态度和认知,一方面,因时代的进步、祈雨的弊病,对祈雨进行猛烈批判;另一方面,因祈雨习俗的浸染、严重的旱灾和有限的救济、祈雨的精神和娱乐功能,理解祈雨活动,并建议消解祈雨,表现了社会参与意识与社会责任感。

During the Period of the Republic of China,drought occurred frequently in Suzhou,and rain praying activities were often held by officials and people.Suzhou Ming Newspaper expressed attitudes and cognition towards the traditional cultural model of the rain praying.On the one hand,it fiercely criticized the rain praying because of the progress of the times and the disadvantages of praying for rain.On the other hand,due to the influence of the custom of the rain praying,serious drought and limited relief,and the spiritual and entertainment function of the rain praying,it understood the activities of the rain praying and suggested getting rid of the activities,which showed the consciousness of social participation and sense of social responsibility.
