A Study of Wang Meng's Comeback Works

1977年至1980年是王蒙创作上的复出期,同时这也是新时期文学的发生期。从复出作《诗,数理化》与《队长、书记、野猫和半截筷子的故事》的问世,再到《最宝贵的》《布礼》等作品的发表,以及长篇小说《这边风景》的创作,不仅标志着王蒙重回文坛,同时也真切地记录了社会转型期作家复杂而微妙的创作心态,而这种复杂性则构成了发生期的新时期文学特有的面貌。

The period from 1977 to 1980 was Wang Meng’s comeback period in literary creation, and it was also the period of the emergence of literature of the new era. Wang Meng’s comeback works,from Poetry,Mathematics-PhysicsChemistry and The Story of the Captain,the Secretary,the Wild Cat and Half-Cut Chopsticks, to The Most Precious and The Cloth Gift,and his long novel The Landscape on this Side,not only marked his return to the literary circle,but also vividly recorded the complex and delicate creative mentality of writers during the period of social transformation,which is unique to the new literature during the period of new literature emergence.
