中国社会学的记忆研究传统中,一个鲜明特点是以中国社会的重大历史实践为田野,并能在此基础上生发出解释中国社会的本土概念,本质上,这是一种社会学中国化的努力,这一本土化的特征并不是盲目拒斥西方,而是在吸收借鉴西方理论概念的基础上,开创出属于自己的传统,并力图将自己的成果融入与世界学术的对话之中,从而推进一种文明间的对话。以方慧容的“无事件境”研究为例,方慧容提出的“无事件境”概念是传统农村社区特有的社会心态,是与现代性对张的一种存在状态;但它还不限于中国传统农村社会的文化心态,它在现代社会、扬·阿斯曼讨论的古埃及社会,以及普鲁斯特追忆中的法国社会、哈布瓦赫的集体记忆理论中都存在,可能是人类文明中一个较为普遍的心态。在某种意义上,它代表了人类生存理性,与现代理性之间存在一定张力。而我们个体在现代所过的生活并没有全部被“现代化”,这便是“社会底蕴”在当代所承载的意涵。“无事件境”蕴含着丰富的社会文化意涵,在人们的日常生活中发挥着重要的作用。

In the memory research tradition of Chinese sociology, a distinctive feature is that the major historical practice of Chinese society is the field, and on this basis, local concepts to explain Chinese society can be developed. In essence, this is an effort to localize sociology, and the characteristic of this localization is not to blindly reject the West, but to create its own tradition on the basis of absorbing and borrowing Western theoretical concepts, and also try to integrate its own achievements into the dialogue with the world’s academics, thereby promoting a dialogue among civilizations. The discussion of the concept of “the Context-absent Memory” aims to extend the chain of interpretation of this feature. Fang Huirong’s concept of “the Context-Absent Memory” is a unique social mentality of traditional rural communities, and it is a conflicting state of existence with modernity.But it is not limited to the cultural mentality of traditional Chinese rural society. It exists in the modern society,the ancient Egyptian society discussed by Jan Assmann, and the French society in Proust’s recollection, and the collective memory theory of Maurice Halbwachs, and may be a more common state of mind in human civilization.In a sense, it represents the rationality of human existence and there is a certain tension between it and modern rationality. And the life that our individual has lived in modern times is not all “modernized”, which is the meaning of “social ground” in the contemporary. “The Context-absent Memory” contains rich social and cultural meanings and plays an important role in people’s daily life.
