Chinese historian Gu Jiegang's personal diary recorded his experience of watching movies for 21 times in Dahua Cinema and Children's cinema from the 1950s to 1960s.These diary chapters have special historical values on Beijing cinema culture.The film exhibition arrangement of the two cinemas constituted the ritual characteristics of film viewing activities,and it was important link to achieve cultural functions of films.The film-viewing records and experiences in Gu Jiegang's diary shows the achievements of China's film industry in the"seventeen years"period,and provides the possibility to interpret the film exhibition,acceptance and cultural identity of Beijing Urban Cinemas at that time.
