The state-target-cause-prognosis theory is a clinical differentiation and treatment strategy originally proposed by academician Tong Xiaolin.Professor Chen Rui inherits his academic ideas and applies the theory in the diff erentiation and treatment of diabetes.First,she diagnoses the disease comprehensively with the four diagnostic methods and with reference to the results of modern medical tests.Secondly,she identifi es the stages of the disease and works out its core pathogenesis.Finally,she targets the treatment with the precise prescription,medicines,dose and efficacy.The ideas of administering a treatment on the basis of syndrome differentiation and administering preventive treatments of diseases in traditional Chinese medicine are carried out throughout the whole treatment process.
