二十世纪三四十年代是中国近代旧派武侠小说发展的巅峰阶段。旗籍作家王度庐是"悲剧侠情"一派的翘楚,寓居青岛期间所著多部小说引发了一时无两的社会效应,蕴含着强烈的批判世俗礼法、赞颂自由解放的态度,且对后世武侠小说创作"譬寸辖制轮,尺枢运关也"。从中国近代文学史发展来看,王度庐寓居青岛期间所创武侠言情小说有其相应的社会、艺术及历史价值。

The 1930s and 1940s were the peak stage of the old school martial arts novels in modern China,while the Manchus writer Wang Du-lu was the leader of the "tragic chivalrous sentiment".Many of his novels written during his residence in Qingdao have triggered an indistinguishable social effect,containing a strong attitude of criticizing secular etiquette and law and praising freedom and liberation.His impact on the later period was like "an inch governing the wheel and a foot pivoting the pass".From the perspective of the development of modern Chinese literary history,the martial arts romance novels created by Wang Du-lu during his residence in Qingdao have their corresponding social,artistic and historical values.
