Internet Use,Environmental Knowledge and Public Pro-environmental Behaviors

公众参与是加快环境治理体系建设的重要途径,亲环境行为则是公众参与环境治理的重要体现。已有文献主要关注传统媒体对亲环境行为的舆论引导功能,但较少关注新媒体所发挥的作用。本研究使用“中国综合社会调查”数据考察了互联网使用对个体的亲环境行为的影响,并且从环境知识视角进行机制分析。研究发现:公众的亲环境行为总体上并不积极,但公域环境行为比私域环境行为更加活跃;互联网使用对私域环境行为和公域环境行为都具有促进作用;环境知识是互联网使用促进亲环境行为的作用机制;相比于“互联网—私域环境行为”的关系,环境知识在“互联网—公域环境行为”关系中发挥的中介效应更大。

Public participation is an important way to improve the environmental governance system,and pro-environmental behavior is an important measure of public participation in environmental governance.The existing literature mainly focuses on the public opinion guidance function of traditional media to pro-environment behavior,but less attention is paid to the role of new media.This paper uses the data of 2013 China General Social Survey to investigate the impact of Internet use on pro-environmental behaviors,and analyzes the mechanism from the perspective of environmental knowledge.The results show that:the public’s pro-environmental behavior is not positive on the whole,but the public environmental behavior is more active than the private environmental behavior;the use of Internet can promote both private environmental behavior and public environmental behavior;environmental knowledge is the mechanism of Internet use promoting pro-environmental behavior;compared with the“Internet private environmental behavior”relationship,environmental knowledge plays a greater mediating effect in the“Internet public environmental behavior”relationship.
