明清小说中,经常会出现一种特殊的描写,很多人物当场演唱俗曲,这些演唱的俗曲有一部分本身意义不大,属于小说描写情境中叙事的需要,但也有些俗曲其自身的内涵颇为丰富,而其表述功能甚至具有多重性。有些功能我们曾经在另外的文章中进行探讨,此处主要探讨俗曲演唱描写中的娱乐应酬和箴言劝诫两大功能。

There exists a unique description that many characters’singing folk songs on the spot appeares frequently in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasties.Some of these folk songs are out of the narration needs and of little significance.However,some folk songs have rich connotations and even have multiple functions of expression.The Writer has discussed some functions in his previous essays.In this essay,the writer will mainly discuss two functions in the description of folk song singing:recreation for entertain-ment and proverbs for education.
