An Introduction to the History of War in Three Gorges Region

三峡历史上战争特别频繁,4000年的三峡文化史,一定程度上可以说就是一部丰富多彩的战争史。秦朝、西汉、东汉、西晋、隋朝、元朝、明朝的大统一,都是以三峡地区的战争为契机实现的。宋末抗战的民族精神、当代共产党人的红岩精神,集中体现了三峡战争史的文化意蕴及其时代价值。

There were frequent wars in the history of Three Gorges area.To some extent,the 4000-year Three Gorges cultural history is a record of wars.As a matter of fact,most of the historical unifications in China,such as Qin dynasty,Western Han dynasty,Eastern Han dynasty,Western Jin dynasty,Sui dynasty,Yuan dynasty and Ming dynasty,were all realized through wars.Thus,the war-inspired national spirit in late Song dynasty and Hongyan Spirit in the fighting of contemporary communists present the cultural connotation and time values of wars in Three Gorges area.
