Design of architecture and planning have been thinking about how to deal with the destruction of cities due to various natural disasters. The novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19)at the beginning of 2020,an important historical node at the moment, has brought many countries around the world into a pause mode. The high density of modern cities and the high mobility of population are unavoidable. The current difficulty is how the vertical city model of compact and composite functions in the city center can quickly"react"when the epidemic comes.Taking the entries in the Benchmark Cup 2020 International College Student Architectural Design Competition as an example, the paper proposes three-dimensional living space and three-dimensional public space,in order to provide more possibilities for new-type residential design.
