Chinese Studies at the French School of Asian Studies

作为法国海外学院之一的远东学院,自20世纪初成立以来,研究范围辐射整个中南半岛地区,而对中国的研究则始终被放置在南亚与东南亚的“印度文化圈”以及东亚的“儒家文化圈”之间去考察。随着中国研究在法国远东学院越来越占据核心位置,一批兼具流动性与传承性的汉学家群体逐渐形成,他们虽然在不同阶段分别聚焦于不同的研究主题,但最终共同呈现出了“文明的比较”与“他者的建构”并重的研究理路。

As one of the overseas institutes of French,the French School of Asian Studies has been focusing its research on the entire Indochina peninsula since its establishment in the early 20th century,while the study of China has always been placed between the“Indian cultural circle”in South and Southeast Asia and the“Confucian cultural circle”in East Asia.As Chinese studies began to occupy a more and more central position in the French School of Asian Studies,a group of sinologists were gradually formed.Although they focus on different research topics at different stages,they ultimately present a common approach of“comparison of civilizations”and“construction of the other”.
