威廉莫里斯在欧洲设计史发展史上具有举足轻重的地位,尤其在图案设计领域成就颇丰。他所设计的图案广泛应用于家居壁纸、纺织品等生活物品中,图案中自然主义的气息浓厚,结构变化多样、层次分明。莫里斯为了图案设计呈现更好的视觉效果,尝试运用更加贴合织物本身的纹理特点的对称结构进行图案设计,故本文旨在通过研究莫里斯装饰图案设计的纹样特点及设计来源,主要分析对称结构在莫里斯图案设计中的应用及其美学特点。

William Morris plays a pivotal role in the history of European design,especially in the field of pattern design.The patterns he designed are widely used in household wallpapers,textiles and other living items.The patterns have a strong atmosphere of naturalism,and the structures are varied and layered.In order to present a better visual effect in the pattern design,Morris tries to use a symmetrical structure that fits the texture characteristics of the fabric itself for pattern design.Therefore,this paper aims to study the pattern characteristics and design sources of Morris decorative pattern design,and mainly analyze the symmetry.The application of structure in Morris pattern design and its aesthetic characteristics.
