徐复先生的《后读书杂志》始于1932年,一共经历了四个阶段:第一,初创时期。其研究计划开始之后,部分篇章发表在当时的学术刊物上,至1944年粗具规模,曾获国民政府三等奖。第二,成型时期。建国以后至二十世纪八十年代继续增补,部分研究成果刊布在学术期刊和其《徐复语言文字学丛稿》《徐复语言文字学论稿》中。第三,出版期。《后读书杂志》正式出版,引起了良好反响。第四,补辑期。《后读书杂志》交出版社之后,又陆续有所撰述和增补,主要成果收录于《徐复语言文字学晚稿》。《后读书杂志》是徐复先生读书理念和治学思想的体现,其治学精神影响深远。

Xu Fu’s writing of this book started in 1932 and went through four stages:First,the start-up period.After his research project began,part of the chapters were published in academic journals.By 1944,he had won the third level prize of the National government.Second,the formative period,from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the 1980s,some of the research results were published in academic journals or included in his two books of Linguistic and Philology Studies.Third,the publication period.There were many good response after it was officially published.Fourth,the supplementing stage.After the publication,he successively written and supplemented some items,which have been mainly collected in the Late Manuscripts of Xu Fu's Language and PhilologyStudies.This work is the embodiment of Mr.Xu Fu's thought of academic philosophy,and his scholarly spirit has far-reaching influence.
