The Northern Song Dynasty has always been the strongest opponent of the Liao Dynasty.Therefore,Liao used a variety of defense ways against the Northern Song Dynasty,the most important of which was the defense of border garrison,and the number of garrison was the largest against the Song Dynasty.After the alliance of Chanyuan,the garrison of Liao to the Northern Song Dynasty became the norm.There were a large number and many kinds of troops stationed on the border between the two countries,which ensured the national security of Liao Dynasty.And it was an important part of Liao’s border defense construction.
