Light Modulator and Volume Light: A Preliminary Study on Alvar Aalto’s Lamp Design

以阿尔托灯具设计进化史为入手点,对阿尔托所设计灯具的照明特征加以总结,探究其光环境设计的部分手段。从灯具设计结合建筑到运用局部照明形成光场,再到将灯具作为室内光环境中不可或缺的调光器;阿尔托为光赋予形态,用体积光将建筑空间分出层级,并建立了光与建筑空间之间一种慎重的关系。

Starting from the evolutionary history of Aalto’s lamp design, this paper summarizes the lighting characteristics of the lamp designed by Aalto, and explores his particular design methods of lighting environment. Aalto’s lamp design arranges from lamp design coordinated with architectural measures and the use of partial lighting to form a light field, to the use of lamp as an indispensable modulator in the indoor luminous environment. Giving shape to the light by using volumetric light to divide the architectural space into layers, Aalto creates a carefully polished relationship between light and architectural space.
