Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of tranexamic acid(TCA) combined with botulinum toxin type A in the improvement of pigmentation. Methods From January to December 2020, 54 patients with pigmentation were selected and randomly divided into 3 groups. In control group, daily sunscreen and moisturizer was performed in 15 patients. The TCA was imported into 20 patients in group A. The TCA combined with botulinum toxin type A was performed in 19 patients to treat pigmentation in group B. Two months at the end of treatment, the efficacy and satisfaction were observed and evaluated. Results After treatment, local pigmentation in group A and B was lighter in color and smaller in area than control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The results of comparison between group A and B showed that the pigmentation color in group B was lighter than that in group A, and the color was similar to surrounding normal tissue. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The satisfaction rate of group A was 90.00%(18/20) and group B was 100%(19/19). Conclusion The efficacy of TCA combined with botulinum toxin type A in the improvement of pigmentation is good. The adverse reactions are less. It should be considerable for clinical promotion and application.
