《大希庇亚篇》不仅是古希腊美学思想的重要论著,而且蕴涵了可能世界语义学的萌芽。分别对苏格拉底与希庇亚论辩中涉及的“美”的定义、直言命题、命题变形直接推理、直言三段论推理进行逻辑解读后发现:其论辩中有效推理和无效推理交错融合,不仅导致了诸多困惑,而且也导致了很难给出“美”的准确定义。

Hippias Major is not only an important work of aesthetic thought in ancient Greek, but also contains the sprout of possible world semantics. After the logical analysis of the definition of beauty, categorical proposition, proposition deformation direct reasoning and categorical syllogism reasoning involved in the debate between Socrates and Hippias, it is found that the simultaneous existence of valid reasoning and invalid reasoning in the debate not only leads to a lot of confusion, but also makes it difficult to give an accurate definition of beauty.
