古代“中医”的含义为“中等水平医生”之义,又有“切中医理”之义。近代西医传入后,人们口中的“中医”指的是汉民族医学。中华人民共和国成立后,民族医学与“中医”由并存到逐步纳入“中医”范畴,“中医”衍生出广义的“中国传统医学”与狭义的“汉民族医学”二层含义。直至《中华人民共和国中医药法》的颁布与实施,“中医”一词正式在法律层面含有我国各民族医药统称之义。研究现代“中医”概念的形成,意在厘清中医的“变与不变”,即“中医”一词从组词表象来看未变,但其内涵却已在历史的发展中出现层叠演变。

The essence of the research on the concept of ‘traditional Chinese medicine’ is actually to clarify the ‘changed and unchanged’ of traditional Chinese medicine, that is, the term ‘ZHONG Yi’ has not changed from the perspective of group words, but its connotation has evolved in the historical development.
