叶圣陶日记所见《新华字典》第一版编纂、出版史料考述

A Study on the Compilation of the First Edition of Xinhua Dictionary Recorded in Mr. Ye Sheng-tao’s Diary.

《新华字典》由著名教育家、文学家叶圣陶先生和著名教育家、语言学家魏建功教授领导的新华辞书社编纂,人民教育出版社1953年出版。《新华字典》是中国现代辞书史上的一部著名小字典,在中国的文化教育、辞书编纂、语文现代化等方面都做出了重要贡献。本文对叶圣陶先生日记所涉及的关于《新华字典》第一版的若干编纂、出版史料做了梳理和探讨。

Xinhua Dictionary was compiled by Xinhua Dictionary Agency led by famous educator Ye Shengtao and famous linguist Wei Jian-gong. It was published by People’s Education Press in 1953.It is a famous little dictionary in the history of modern Chinese dictionaries, which has made important contributions to Chinese culture and education, lexicography, Chinese modernization and so on. This paper discusses some historical materials about the first edition of Xinhua Dictionary in Mr. Ye Sheng-tao’s diary.
