Silicone rubber has good physiological inertness,resistance to aging,and also excellent biocompatibility,does not induce foreign body response in the human body,does not induce inflammation to surrounding tissues,and the like,and thus silicone rubber is widely used in the field of medical materials.Trends in patent application quantities,distribution of patent applications,technological developments of silicone rubbers in medicine were analyzed by searches of specialized databases.
