The Poetry of Garden

清漪园中的惠山园是乾隆非常喜爱的一处园中园,那时惠山园中的山水林泉还是一个整体,仅有的少量建筑散布在山间水岸,想必惠山园一定如它的蓝本无锡寄畅园一样,充满了质朴幽远的山水诗意。乾隆曾题写惠山园八景,其中“寻诗径”位于惠山园的中心,也就是山水的交会之处。现在,惠山园早已不复原状,经后代的改建和重建,增加了不少建筑和围墙,且一些建筑的体量也增大了许多。

Huishan Garden in Qingyi Garden was a small garden that Emperor Qianlong loved very much.At that time,the hill,stream and grove in Huishan Garden were still a whole,and there were only a few buildings scattered along the hill and stream.Like its prototype,Jichang Garden in Wuxi,it was most probably full of plain and secluded landscape poetry.Emperor Qianlong once inscribed the Eight Scenes of Huishan Garden,among which the"Poetry Seeking Path"was located in the center of Huishan Garden,where the stream and the hill met.Now,Huishan Garden has long been far away from its original state.
