欧美媒体涉华疫情报道态度资源研究——基于语料库的批评话语分析

Research on Attitude Resources of European and American Media in China-related Epidemic Reporting——A Corpus-based Critical Discourse Analysis

欧美媒体涉华疫情报道错综复杂。作者自建欧美媒体涉华疫情报道语料库,并基于Fairclough三维分析框架,用James Martin评价理论中的态度系统梳理语料库文本,分析其中态度词汇的评价意义分布特征,研判欧美媒体涉华疫情报道的态度趋势。研究发现:欧美媒体涉华疫情报道态度褒贬不一,其中消极评价话语偏多。这种他塑的中国形象建构与欧美国家的意识形态、利益关注,以及新闻传播者的价值观念、话语角色认知密切相关。因此,中国官媒及自媒体有必要提升对外传播效能,关注新闻受众的阅读态度,从而有效展示中国的积极形象。

European and American media reports on the China-related epidemic are intricate.Based on the corpus of European and American media's reports on China-related epidemics built by the author and Fairclough's three-dimensional analysis framework,the author used James Martin's attitude system to sort out the texts in the corpus,and analyzed the distribution characteristics of the evaluation meaning of attitude words,as well as the attitude trend of The European and American media′s reports on the epidemic in China.It is found that European and American media have mixed attitudes in reporting on the China-related epidemic,and there are many negative comments.The construction of the Chinese image created by others is closely related to the ideology and interest concerns of European and American countries,as well as the values and discourse roles of news disseminators.Therefore,it is necessary for Chinese official media and“we media”to improve the effectiveness of external communication and pay attention to the reading attitude of news audiences,so as to effectively exhibition the positive image of China.
