Based on the nature and characteristics of multimodality,applying it to the English language teaching process can strengthen students’reading ability,improve the quality of English teaching,and meet the needs of modern information technology and cultural diversity.Multimodal discourse is the civilization achievement of social development and the inevitable result of the development of various fields in the context of the continuous development of multimodal society and science and technology.Multi-mode,a mode combining vision,hearing,and tactile sense,breaks the limitation of single-mode research,and multimodal English teaching will break through the drawbacks and defects of traditional English teaching.
