It introduces the networking and technical characteristics of ROADM network and its application in the current network. According to the practical experience of ROADM network in construction and operation,it summarizes the advantages of ROADM network in improving service opening efficiency,reducing service delay,improving network security and maintenance convenience,and analyzes the challenges of ROADM network in the aspects of the dimensions of wavelength selection switch,service recovery time,network construction cost,optical fiber consumption and cross regional cooperation,and then puts forward the corresponding countermeasures.
