The Lamb of Silence,The Lamb of Song:The Place of Kato Shuichi in Postwar Japanese Thought

加藤周一是战后知识人的典型代表,以日本文化论或日本文学论而著称。本文主要着眼于战争经历带给他的“悔恨”,通过对《羊之歌》《续·羊之歌》等作品的深度解读与文本剖析,窥探东京大轰炸前后,加藤周一的学术态度与作品风格所发生的巨大变化。一直以来与日本时局保持距离,秉承作壁上观态度的加藤,开始关注时事,对政府进行批判。并终生将战争时期的悔恨为基点,对“政治与文学”“西方与日本”等问题不断加以追问。本文亦明确指出,“希望/判断”“价值判断/事实判断”二者的关系,实际上成为了1954年以后加藤思想的主轴,并在日本战后思想史上具有独特的地位。

As a representative of postwar intellectuals,Kato Shuichi was famous for his assessments of Japanese literature and Japanese culture.Starting with the "remorse" brought to him by war experiences,this essay is an in-depth interpretation and textual analysis of his Hitsuji no Uta and Zoku Hitsuji no Uta,in an attempt to look into the great changes that took place to Kato Shuichi’s attitude toward life and his writing style around the Bombing of Tokyo.A long-term standing-by spectator of Japan’s situation,Kato began to care about the current affairs and criticize the Japanese government,as well as to investigate,on the basis of his remorse during the war,in such issues as "politics and literature" and "the West and Japan" all his life.The author of this essay also points out that the relationships between wish and judgment,between value-based judgment and factbased judgment have actually become the core of his thoughts after 1954,winning him a peculiar position in Japan’s history of postwar thought.
