Tocilizumab in rheumatoid arthritis-associated peripheral ulcerative keratitis:A case report

We report a case of rheumatoid arthritis-associated peripheral ulcerative keratitis(PUK)successfully treated with tocilizumab.Despite having been treated with systemic corticosteroids and several disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs and having,received corneal transplantation,the patient lost sight in the left eye.Tocilizumab resulted in a good response,with her systemic illness controlled and the progression of corneal lesions prevented.Tocilizumab may be an additional tool for patients with rheumatoid arthritis associated PUK that is refractory to other drugs.
