摘要
威廉·戈尔丁的小说被誉为颠覆传统的现代讽喻,他在人物塑造中融入宗教、古典文学和神话等元素,塑造了具有颠覆性与反传统性特点的悲剧性人物群体,并以高超的象征和隐喻艺术凸显人物的概念性与现实性特点。戈尔丁以人物的悲剧性直击人性恶之本质、批判传统自由资本主义的价值观,赤裸裸地展露人性及现代人的生存困境,展现了他独具特色的人物讽喻艺术,为战后小说人物美学注入了新鲜活力。同时,戈尔丁巧妙地把个体存在与群体困境表征结合起来,以个体遭遇展现群体体验,反思人类的生存与道德困境,揭示人性,讽喻社会,警醒世人,具有一定的现实意义。
William Golding,whose novels are known as modern allegories,integrates elements of religion,classical literature and myths into his characterization,shapes a group of tragic characters with the characteristics of subversion and anti-tradition, and highlights the characters’ conceptual and realistic characteristics with superb symbolism and metaphorical art. Golding stroke at the essence of the evil human nature with the tragedy of his characters in his novels,criticized the traditional liberal capitalist values,presented the survival predicament of modern people,and thus showed his unique allegorical art in characterization and contributed a vitality to postwar character aesthetics. At the same time,he skillfully combined individual existence with group dilemma presentation,displaying a community experience through that of individuals.It is of practical significance in showing human predicaments in existence and providing reflections and alerts on human nature and morality in modern society.
