摘要
基于平行语料文本,从隐喻翻译视角出发,探析《论语》中“君子”高度复现英译对等词产生的认知机制,并挖掘其创造性翻译理据。研究发现,“君子”各英译的隐喻认知处理机制存在同质性:首先,沟通汉英对等词体现出互通隐喻图式,并以此为关联节点,生成双语隐喻表征系统,二者的图式—例示结构平行对应;其次,对于目的语词隐喻概念中缺少的原语词内涵,语境中的其他语言符号可以有效弥补。非隐喻性表达通过对原语词隐喻概念进行阐释说明,亦可用作翻译对等。
Based on parallel texts,this paper analyzes the cognitive mechanism behind typical English translations of high Chinese-English co-occurrence rate of“junzi(君子)”in Confucius Analects(《论语》)from the perspective of metaphor translation,and summarizes creative translation methods.The translations of“junzi(君子)”show similar cognitive modal.First,identify the shared cognitive schema between“junzi(君子)”and its English correspondence,from which generate two bilingual metaphor representation systems.Secondly,it covers only a part of the source language metaphor schema,other words in the context can complement.Words of no metaphorical meaning can be a correspondence in target language with the explanation of the metaphor in source language.
