Taking the Yangtze River Delta urban Agglomeration as the research object,a multi-index system is constructed in the paper, and factor analysis method and entropy value method are used to give weight to these indexes. The TOPSIS and the coupling coordination degree model are applied to comprehensively evaluate the new urbanization and urban traffic in each city. Finally, the K-means clustering method is used to classify each city and the research results are presented in the form of color map.The results show that:(1)In the Yangtze River Delta urban Agglomeration,Shanghai has the highest level of new-type urbanization development, followed by Zhejiang,Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. The cities in the metropolitan area generally have a higher level of new-type urbanization development.(2)The traffic development of each city is closely related to its scale and functional status.(3)There are differences between new-type urbanization and urban traffic in different cities, and they may restrict or promote each other. Therefore, while strengthening new-type urbanization and urban traffic construction, cities should also pay attention to improving their adaptation level.
