毛泽东一生中曾多次提到刘备,在肯定刘备会用人、能团结人、善于处理干部之间的关系、爱民如子等优点的同时,也指出刘备有感情用事、不能区分主次矛盾、缺乏朝气等缺点。毛泽东评价刘备,采用了客观辩证、一分为二的评价原则,并能从刘备的功过得失中汲取经验和教训,从而达到资政、育人的目的。

MAO Zedong has mentioned LIU Bei many times in his life.While affirming LIU Bei′s advantages of employing people,uniting people,being good at dealing with the relationship between cadres,and loving the people as children,he also pointed out LIU Bei′s emotional disadvantages,inability to distinguish between primary and secondary conflicts and lack of vigor and vitality.MAO Zedong,evaluating Liu Bei with the objective and dialectical principles,drew some experiences and lessons from LIU Bei′s gains and losses,so as to guide the Chinese revolutionary and construction causes.
