Objective To evaluate the role of"4S"management of critical care equipment and catheters. Methods A sample of 20 staff in the Department of Critical Care Medicine, all responsible for the use of equipment and catheters, were given different management measures in different periods, that is,they were routinely managed from August 2020 to January 2021 as the routine group, while in the From February to August 2021,"4S"management will be used as the management group to evaluate the management quality, count the adverse events of equipment and catheter use during this time period, and investigate the management satisfaction. Results The management quality of equipment and catheters in the management group was higher than that in the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The equipment failure rate of the management group was 1.00%,the improper operation rate was 3.00%,and the improper connection rate was 1.00%,which was lower than that of the reference group(7.00%,12.00%,8.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The catheter blockage rate in the management group was 1.00%,no unplanned extubation occurred, the catheter twist rate was 2.00%,and the catheter slippage rate was 3.00%,which was lower than the reference group(7.00%,4.00%,9.00%,11.00%),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The management satisfaction of the catheter in the management group was 96.00%,which was higher than that in the reference group(87.00%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion"4S"management can enhance management skills, reduce unreasonable use of catheters and equipment, and maintain high management satisfaction.
