摘要
关于语言学与外语教育研究的关系,学界虽偶有共识,也不乏灼见,但始终缺乏较为系统的陈述。本文认为,语言学的一切研究成果,皆有可能在不同程度和不同方面成为外语教育理论与实践的来源或灵感。本文开篇简述了本文的立意,以此为起点,分述了语言学与外语教育研究10个维度的关系。本文提出,外语教育归根结蒂是语言的教育。没有语言学研究做基底的外语教育研究,极有可能会成为一只跛脚鸭。外语教育研究若纯然置语言学的研究成果于不顾,那就难以称为真正的外语教育研究。语言学虽非万能,但没有语言学,外语教育研究是万万不能的。因此,加深对语言学在外语教育研究中具有重要作用的认识,必然裨益于外语教育研究在深度、广度和高度上进一步丰富其理论与实践。
Occasional consensus has been reached by experts and sometimes even insightful ideas have been put forth by them concerning the interrelationship between linguistics and foreign language education studies,but a quite systematic statement of such relationships is absent.What this paper holds is that research findings made by linguistics can to different degrees and in different aspects provide sources or inspirations for the foreign language education theory and practice.This paper tells its intention at its very beginning and then takes it as a starting point to state respectively the interrelationships between linguistics and the ten dimensions concerning the studies of foreign language education.Foreign language education is after all the education of languages.What this article holds is that without the underlying support of linguistic research,the study of foreign language education would turn out to be a lame duck.If research achievements produced in linguistics are totally overlooked,the study of foreign language education will prove to be not true to its name.Linguistics is not omnipotent,but foreign language education is absolutely impossible without linguistics.Therefore,to deepen the recognition of the important role played by linguistics in foreign language education studies surely helps further enrich the foreign language education theory and practice in its depth,breadth and height as well.
