Racial discrimination in the United States has a long history. In today’s United States, due to political polarization, intensified racial contradictions and continuous racial conflicts, the two parties use racial issues to attack each other, resulting in the escalation of party disputes and social tear and making the racial issue fall into a political impasse. The final result is that the problem still remains, and the victim is still the minorities. Putting racial/ethnic issues under the background of political polarization, this paper discusses from a perspective that under the influence of ideology, party identity and other factors, there is serious opposition between people’s racial positions and attitudes. Once an extreme event occurs, there will be polarized social thoughts and movements. In the election year, they express their political demands through their votes, and this kind of political participation is often taken advantage of by the parties. It can be found that the political polarization in the United States has reshaped racial relations, while racial conflicts have further intensified partisan struggle and deepened political polarization.
