How African countries, especially South Africa, can make winter games popular and nurture athletes Despite the challenges of the pandemic and the unrest in some parts of the world, which were beyond the control of China, Beijing managed to bring to the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games 736 athletes from 48 countries and regions, with admirable success. The athletes fought their hearts out-for personal glory and to make their countries and regions proud-at the sports venues.
