The Legal Protections of Chinese Style Democracy

坚持中国共产党的领导,坚持以人民为中心,坚持依法治国是中国式民主的核心要义。中国式民主的法治实践集中表现为实行人民民主专政的国体,实行人民代表大会制度的政体,坚持和完善中国共产党领导的多党合作和政治协商制度,巩固和发展最广泛的爱国统一战线,坚持和完善民族区域自治制度,坚持和完善基层群众自治制度。展望未来,应当确立以人民享有广泛权利、人民全面参与法治建设、国家治理高效、社会和谐稳定、权力运用得到有效制约和监督的法治检验标准,推进中国式民主不断发展完善。

Upholding the leadership of the CPC,putting people first and governing China on the basis of law are three core principles of Chinese style democracy.The legal practices of Chinese style democracy are mainly reflected in adopting the people’s democratic dictatorship and the system of people’s congresses,upholding and improving the system of multi-party cooperation and political consultation under the leadership of the CPC,strengthening and expanding the broadest possible patriotic united front,and adhering to the system of regional ethnic autonomy and the system of primary-level self-governance.Looking to the future,this article argues that China should set the rule of law evaluation standards of whether or not the people enjoy extensive rights and are part of the efforts to advance rule of law,the country is governed efficiently,social stability and harmony prevail,and there is effective constraint and supervision of the exercise of power,so as to constantly promote and optimize Chinese style democracy.
