The group of Northern-Wei stone sculptures is re-identified to be dated to around the 5;century, which are archaeologically excavated in Si’er Village of Datong and published in the essay titled On The Three Stone Sculptures of Northern-Wei Dynasty(Běiwèi Shídiāo Sān Pǐn). The two warrior figures standing on either side of the grand niche with a truncated pyramid ceiling, one on the beast-faced creature, the other on human-faced creature, probably originates from Guanzhong region. The group stone sculptures present the occasion of the Nuo ritual ceremony of the Xianbei troops in Pingcheng period of the Northern-Wei dynasty. The portfolio of warriors and beasts together of Si’er Village has much impact upon the tomb-guardian sculptures during and after Luoyang period of the Northern-Wei Dynasty.
