Evolution of Content Ecology,Poverty of Meaning and the Transcendence of Practice in the Algorithm-based Communication

2022年3月1日正式实施的《互联网信息服务算法推荐管理规定》,使算法推荐管理有了法律依据。作为互联网平台核心竞争力的算法从“中介”向“传播者”转变,塑造了算法传播形态。作为传播者的算法能够自我维持以及自我演化,主导了平台的内容传播,创造了全新的内容分销模式,并重置了内容的时间序列。在这个过程中,算法的加速逻辑成为算法传播场域中的支配逻辑,它引发平台内容生态的嬗变,形塑人们的体验与记忆,由此入侵生活世界。它让人们经历了“无意义的体验”,陷入“意义贫困”之中。作为对以算法加速为代表的加速社会的抵抗,人们可以在“慢生活”的逆算法实践中建立自身的秩序,体验生命的意义。

Algorithm,which is the core competitiveness of the Internet platform,has changed from "intermediary" to "communicator",shaping a new form of communication,i.e. algorithmbased communication. Being a communicator,algorithm can sustain itself and evolve. It dominates the content dissemination of the platform,creates a new content distribution model,and resets the time sequence of the content. In this process,the acceleration logic of the algorithm has become the dominant logic in the field of algorithm-based communication,which triggers the evolution of platform content ecology,and shapes people’s experience and memory,thus invading the world of life. It exposes people to "meaningless experiences" and "poverty of meaning". The proposal of "slow life" is based on the reflection of social acceleration represented by algorithms. People can establish their own order and examine the meaning of life in the reverse practice of "slow life".
